In order to become a Real Estate Salesperson (agent) in the state of California you are required to successfully complete three college-level courses (Real Estate Principles, Real Estate Practice, and one elective course) and then pass the Salesperson State Exam. 2-Course Package $362+ tax
This package only includes two of the required three courses plus the Salesperson Crash Course, and Practice Questions. This is ideal for those who completed an elective in college. The DRE will generally accept Business Law, Economics, or Accounting from an accredited 2 or 4 year college or university. Contact the DRE directly for questions on if your college course qualifies.

Principles Package $329+ tax
This package only includes the Real Estate Principles course, the Salesperson Crash Course, as well as the Practice Questions. This is ideal for those who have already completed Real Estate Practice and the elective. Or, those who have already completed all 3 required courses, but want to retake Real Estate Principles to refresh before the Salesperson State Exam.

Individual Courses $94 each+ tax
All of our above packages include the Salesperson Crash Course and Practice Questions. You might prefer to just take the required courses. All of the required pre-license courses are available for individual purchase. If you purchase more than one at the same time, the first course is $94 + tax and each additional course is $74 + tax.

Live Tutorials
Students who select Physical Textbooks get access to the Live Tutorials for Real Estate Principles, Real Estate Practice, and Real Estate Economics. Live Tutorials are designed to help guide you through the correspondence courses with an instructor. Each course consists of five lessons; each lesson covers three chapters. Instructors will guide you through the course highlighting relevant information and help guide students through the correspondence course process. Tutorials are optional but recommended. You must read the textbooks at home and complete the quizzes and final exams via your online account.

Real Estate Salesperson License Requirements
In order to get a Salesperson license, you must be 18 years or older, pass a government background check, and pass the DRE-administered Salesperson State Exam. In order to qualify for this exam, you must complete three courses:

Once you complete the three required pre-license courses, apply for the Salesperson State Exam (we recommend the Combined Salesperson Examination and License Application found below). It can take up to six weeks for the DRE to process your application.

Exceptions:
- If you completed Business Law, Economics, or Accounting at an approved 2 or 4-year college, then you have already completed the elective requirement. If you have completed one of said courses, please order a sealed, official transcript from your college or university and send it off to the DRE when you are ready to apply for the State Exam.
- Members of the California State Bar are exempt from the college-level course requirements. Evidence of admission to practice law in California, such as a photocopy of both sides of a California State Bar membership card, must be furnished.
